You get to develop as a photographer and learn composition, Photoshop, travel photo, studio setup, drone photography, how to make an exhibition, analog photography, dark room development and more.

In the photo class, you will explore many photo techniques. You get access to lots of different equipment, and we work in the studio, on location, when traveling and in the classroom. We adapt the level to your starting point, but start basic to get everyone involved. 

In the class, you meet other photo enthusiasts, and we learn a lot from each other. We emphasize good experiences and collaborate with other groups and classes at school. You can spend the night in a gapahuk with Friluftsliv, make animation with Kunstlinja, film and photograph a concert with Musikklinja and take action photos of Snowboard/Freeski and Backpacker/Ekstremsport. 

In the photo course, you need a digital camera (SLR or system camera) and a laptop. You'll get a license for the Adobe apps you need on your computer the whole year. You get training in the applications, and we do everything from basic cropping and color correction to advanced image processing and manipulation. Photo and film go hand in hand, and you get to make films from study trips, and music videos with Musikklinja. We'll also create an exhibition with our best photos, and set up an online showcase website.

Zagreb, Ljubljana, Bratislava, Wien, Praha, Berlin

Europa har «alt», og med buss og tog kan man se utrolig mye på kort tid.

Vi starter felles i Zagreb, Kroatia. Du blir med å planlegge hvor turen går videre, hva vi skal oppleve og hvor lenge. Ruta går via Ljubljana (Slovenia), Bratislava (Slovakia), Wien (Østerrike) og Praha (Tsjekkia) før vi ender opp i Berlin (Tyskland)!

På lista over opplevelser står sightseeing, gallerier, konserter og lokale attraksjoner. Musikk – Band/Vokal og Foto/Opplevelser reiser sammen og spiller inn musikkvideo underveis.

Budapest

Budapest har alt fra moderne glassfasader til slitne bakgater, bra kollektivtransport, monumenter, vintagebutikker og spa-bad! Du får spektakulær utsikt over det hele fra slottet «Fishermans Bastion» og kommer deg raskt rundt med metro, buss og trikk.

Foto og Musikk reiser sammen og vi henter inspirasjon fra hverandres fag. Vi ser flere utstillinger, blant annet verdens beste pressebilder på World Press Photo og opplever jazz-musikk i verdensklasse på Budapest Jazz Club.

I tillegg er Budapest kjent for ruinpuber, og på «Szimpla Kert» er det konserter hver kveld. Rett bortenfor ligger Soos foto – en vintage fotobutikk med masse analogt utstyr.

Lofoten

Lofoten anses av mange som et av verdens topp ti reisemål. I mars er lyset på vei tilbake, og fargene er fantastiske. Du blir med på jakt etter nordlys og spektakulær natur, havsafari i Trollfjorden og fotografering av havørn.Vi drar på roadtrip til kjente fotospots og prøver «arctic surfing».

Før jul besøker vi København. En by som har alt man kan ønske av severdigheter og storbyliv. Du får oppleve Tivoli, Nyhavn, nattfoto, kanalbåt, arkitektur, alternative Cristiania, is med flødebolle og mye mer.

In addition to all the class trips, we arrange a trip for all the students to the mountain national park "Jotunheimen" the second week at school. We hike Norways second highest mountain, gather by the fireplace in the living room in the evenings, play board games, eat traditional food and get to know each other... fast.

At the folk high school, you can study almost anything – from arts to extreme sports, and everything in-between. The goal is what’s in Norwegian called "danning". A good translation might be "formation".

You will get the oportunity to develop, challenge yourself and your values, and form lasting relations. All without the pressure of grades or exams.

We offer full-year courses, half-year course fall and half-year course spring, and our students average at the age of 19. The majority comes from Nor­way, but many others come from Europe and beyond.
