Experience folk high school, art and culture! A professional meeting that stretches from urban Berlin to Lofoten's magnificent nature. You learn many techniques – both at school and around the world.

We emphasize creative expression within a variety of visual art forms, mixed with good experiences together with new friends.

On the line, you meet other art enthusiasts, and we learn a lot from each other. We also collaborate with other lines at the school. You get to create performances together with the Music Line, animation with the Photo Line, and experience Copenhagen together with the line Norwegian – Culture/Adventure.

You get to make your own knife with sheath, design silver jewelry, and shape unique glass balls.

With the study trips, we facilitate experiences that can inspire and provide experiences. We meet art, design and culture at workshops and courses, visit exciting galleries and happenings. You get to explore many materials and techniques.

I Lofoten bor vi nær havet, naturkreftene og ikke minst lyset. Vi former glasskuler og har workshop på Galleri Espollin.

København

På førjulsturen til København opplever vi kontrasten fraFristaten Christiania til Den lille havfruen, samtidig som vi studerer mesterverk på Statens museum for kunst. Vi får julestemning i de praktfulle omgivelsene til det Kongelige Teaters Gamle Scene hvor vi ser på «Nøtteknekkeren» og avslutter turen med en kveld på tivoli.

Berlin og Venezia

Berlin er en pulserende by. Du får oppleve arkitektur, historie, lokal streetart og vintagebutikker. Vibesøker et kunststudio hvor vi tegner akt med en profesjonell modell. I tillegg ser vi et spektakulært show på Friedrichsstadt, verdens største teaterscene.

Venezia er byen med skjønnhet ingen annen by i verden overgår. Vi besøker den fargerike øya Burano og møter storslagen arkitektur, kanaler og historie. Her får vi følelsen av å gå 400 år tilbake i tid, og kan se og oppleve mesterverk fra tidligere tider. Et naturlig høydepunkt er byens beste samling av moderne kunst på Peggy Guggenheim.

In addition to all the class trips, we arrange a trip for all the students to the mountain national park "Jotunheimen" the second week at school. We hike Norways second highest mountain, gather by the fireplace in the living room in the evenings, play board games, eat traditional food and get to know each other... fast.

At the folk high school, you can study almost anything – from arts to extreme sports, and everything in-between. The goal is what’s in Norwegian called "danning". A good translation might be "formation".

You will get the oportunity to develop, challenge yourself and your values, and form lasting relations. All without the pressure of grades or exams.

We offer full-year courses, half-year course fall and half-year course spring, and our students average at the age of 19. The majority comes from Nor­way, but many others come from Europe and beyond.
