Do you want to experience Africa and do good, creative assistance? On the Africa line you get to run schools, agriculture, tourist projects and a unique football offer in Kasese, western Uganda.
"If you want to understand poverty, you have to understand wealth"
- Outside your comfort zone
- Challenge your values
- Cultural encounters
- Creative fundraising
You join in running a school, agriculture, tourist project and sports facilities in Uganda. In Elverum we help children, the elderly and refugees. Perhaps we learn just as much from those we visit? The autumn course on the Africa Line places great emphasis on the study trip with aid work in Kasese. We travel to Uganda together with the year-round programme Africa - Aid/Culture, but after the study trip, students on the autumn course will remain in Kasese for a month to work on various aid projects.
Experience Africa's unique culture!
- Uganda
- Working in Kasese
- Utøya
- Cabin tours
Half a year of social life at folk high school, learning about good assistance and taking active part in fundraising and spending money. You experience cultures and learn about several African countries through lectures, documentaries, discussions and film.
Most important is the last month where you live and work at our projects in Kasese and Bwera. You get closer to the locals and can combine aid work with other experiences. A separate house with regular, safe people who help with purchases and other practicalities, so you can contribute to the maximum part of the projects.
Half a year where you have to go outside your comfort zone – in Africa's slums and meeting strangers!
