The art class is perfect for developing your skills in art and architecture in a creative environment! You will try out a lot of different techniques throughout the year, and meet Oslo's art scene!
The arts class is perfect for those who want to improve and develop their artistic skills in company with other creative souls. Throughout the year you get to test out various techniques and mediums, thus getting solid fundaments for further studies within the arts.
Independently of whether you will work with painting, sculpture, architecture or simply have ceramics as a hobby, you nevertheless need an understanding of drawing techniques, form, space, composition, materials, idea development and problem solving. We work with architecture by building models and trying to understand what makes a room or a city a good place to be in. We use drawing in both the idea-development process, but also as an independent artistic expression. In addition, you get to work with painting, graphics, and ceramics throughout the year. Finally, along with an introduction in art and architecture history, we also discuss the role of aesthetics in our society.
Being in the capital brings many privileges! We get to know Oslo’s cultural life by visiting artists and architects, galleries, and museums, and we perform croquis drawing at the Einar Granum School of Fine Art.
