Are you interested creative development, organization of performances and their exposition on tour? Do you want to specialize in singing, dance, or band? Then Ten Sing Norway is the class for you!

Who is this class suitable for?

Ten Sing Norway is for those who are enthusiastic about creative processes, interested in developing themselves not only as performer of music, drama, or dance, but also as a person and leader. You must be able to communicate in Norwegian! (Requirement)

You will learn:

In the Ten Sing Norway class you will receive lessons in leadership, religion, and artistic subjects. You accumulate experience through group projects and by focusing on your personal development as leader and performer.

Throughout the year you get the chance to raise and give form, through creative group processes, to a show that we will then perform on national and international basis. The class receives instruction in scenic dramaturgy, storytelling technique, drama, and communication especially oriented towards creating meaningful performances. In addition to this, you have the chance to choose among the following specializations:

During a year with Ten Sing Norway, you have the possibility to unfold yourself creatively, as a person, and as a leader.

Studytrip to Israel/Palestine

We travel to Israel/Palestine together with the class Global Understanding. This is a trip Rønningen has repeatedly undertaken across several years, having our experiences with it been very good. In case you do not wish to take part in the trip, alternative options will be available, including activities in Oslo.

During the trip to Palestine and Israel you will be able to experience firsthand what the life of Palestinians in the West Bank is like. But also, how it is to be Israelis in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and in settlements in the territories of West Bank. We have quarters in Bethlehem, and from there we will be able to visit the cities of Jerusalem, Ramallah, Hebron, and other destinations in the West Bank.

You get to learn about the conflict in the Middle East and about the life of Palestinian youth that live under occupation. We visit holy places such as the Wailing Wall and the Al-Aqsa Mosque. We drink freshly pressed grenade juice and eat the world’s best falafel. At the same time, you will get the chance to do your part in improving the living conditions of Palestinians through YMCA’s and YWCA’s Joint Advocacy Initiative (JAI) and the Olive Tree Campaign.

Lederkurs for unge voksne er seks dagers inspirasjon og kompetanseheving. Kurset er for deg som er mellom 18 og 25 år og skal gå inn i en lederrolle. Gjennom uken vil deltakerne få utfordre og utfolde seg med kropp og sinn, som lag og individuelt. 


Målet for kurset er å inspirere, utruste og gi kunnskap til unge ledere. Kurset vil være spesielt relevant for deg som skal være leder i barne- og ungdomsarbeid, ettåringsprogram eller som stipendiat på folkehøyskole. Opplegget fokuserer på ulike sider ved det å være leder, tar opp konkrete situasjoner man kan komme opp i, og gir deg nyttig kunnskap, gode tips og ideer.

A perfect environment in which to deepen your knowledge about Norwegian language, Norwegian culture, intercultural understanding – and yourself. 

You will receive 200 hours basic Norwegian course, with an option to add 50 hours for an even higher level.

In addition to the Norwegian course, you will also attend one of the school`s linjer togheter with other norwegian students. You can choose between these linjer: sports, art, music production, photo, singing and dancing.

We believe this is the ultimate combination to get you from a beginners level to a conversational level much faster, because you spend time on a activity that you love, together with other norwegian speaking students. 

You are invited to attend a study trip abroad with your choosen linje.

The whole school will also go on exciting trips during the year; we will explore wonderful Nordmarka, go skiing in Hallingdal and stay at Strandheim campsite by the Oslofjord.

We strive to give every student challenges on their level, based on their background and goals. A variety of teaching methods are used, and the teacher encourages you to build awareness on what are your best ways to learn and develop. 

As our school is the only folkehøgskole situated in Oslo you have a unique chance to explore the capital city of Norway and all the opportunities this city can offer.
