This is the line for you who find it difficult to choose. Who likes to be creative and want to experience new aspects of yourself. Here you can breathe freely, be safer, and have fun.

POSSIBILITIES

On this line, you get an incredible number of opportunities and a lot of variety in everyday life. It is not necessary that you have tried all activities previously. Here you can explore and develop at your own pace and without assessment requirements. Here is some examples what you will get to try;

 

MASTERY

At Creative MIX your interests are important to us. We accept input, and together we create a year that, to the greatest extent possible, can provide "The best year of your life". A good and safe classroom environment is a prerequisite for you to thrive and grow. We believe that you learn the best in an environment where you can make your own experiences. In working with exciting themes and projects, you will experience both mastery and ups and downs!

 

THE SCHOOL DAY

We mostly work practically and project-based. The projects vary in length, form and content depending on the subject. Some themes last three days, others last several weeks. We work both in groups and individually. There are two weeks of immersion each semester, and then you choose whatever subject you want to.

We are heading to the Algarve coastline in beautiful Portugal, where our line teacher Lovise knows the area well. With Armação de Pêra as our starting point, we can pick and choose cultural and nature experiences. You can see a suggestion for the program for the trip below, which can of course be adapted based on the wishes of the class. Here, everyone has the opportunity to involve themselves in planning the trip. And that it will be a trip with mixed content - that's for sure!

 

On this trip to Portugal, you will get sun, outdoor activities, creative courses, experience culture and lots of good food. Pick your own oranges when we visit one of the orchards, where we also get to see how they live. You get a ceramics course in a country with a long tradition of using clay. In addition, we will experience local art and castles from the year 716.

We can do Paddle trip with SUP (stand up paddle board) to beautiful caves. Together with a guide, we paddle along the shore and into caves with internal beaches. You get really close to nature and the water, and the paddle board takes you places you wouldn't otherwise have been able to experience. The Algarve coast offers good opportunities to try surfing. There are opportunities to take part in surfing lessons and try out the waves along the beautiful coast. And for sure there will be morning yoga outside in the beautiful harbor town of Armação de Pêra.

Towards the end of the school year, we take you on an adventure trip to The coast of Helgeland, also called the world's most beautiful archipelago. You can't have been in Helgeland for so long without getting this! We aim for several attractions on the trip, hopefully to end up at Træna. Træna is an island municipality 33 nautical miles off the coast of Helgeland. There has been settlement here ever since the Stone Age, 9,000 years ago. This wonderful island municipality that is flourishing like never before. You may have heard of Trænafestivalen?

On 15.2 km² you will meet the people of the sea. They count 453 people, and have an entrepreneurial mentality that you have never seen. You will have the opportunity to have a milkshake at Aloha café, drink Helgeland's best cappuccino at Træna Kaffekollektiv and eat a delicious dinner at Havfolkets hus. You will have the opportunity to sing together in Kirkehelleren, walk up to the NATO station at Gompen or walk the love path around the mountains at Sanna. If you want to go fishing or sit in the sauna at the boathouse, this is also an option. Or perhaps you would like to visit the Petter Dass chapel, which was decorated by the artist Karl Erik Harr? It's just a lot to look forward to!

Vefsn Folkehøgskole TOPPEN is an active and creative school, placed on the top of a hill on the outskirts of Mosjøen in the middle of Norway. But still far enough up north that the northern lights dance across the sky regularly during the winther.
