    Do you like travelling, sports and activities? Then this is the course for you! We travel on 2 study trips: 1: Indonesia, Bali and Lombok. 2: Montenegro, Croatia and Albania.

    NB! In this school you choose 2 Main Courses! You get a greater variety and can customize your year even more. Look at the possibilities.

     

    EXPLORE is an active course with a lot of sports, outdoor life and activity during a typical week. You can try climbing, river paddling, surfing, tennis, bubble football, night frisbee, several different ball games, skiing, snowboarding, fitness and strength training and much more. 

    INDONESIA

    Join us as we move the classroom to Indonesia, Bali and Lombok! You'll get to try your hand at surfing, snorkeling and jungle trekking. But it's even more educational when we go to a children's center where you can play and play soccer with the children.

    MONTENEGRO - CROATIA - ALBANIA

    Our second trip goes to the Balkan Pininsula, known for its amazing nature and culture. Rafting, mountain hiking and more.

    Amazing Race Norway

    What do you do if you are standing in the middle of Oslo with no money and need to get north, south, east or west in the shortest possible time?

    At EXPLORE, we create our own "Amazing Race", where you and your classmates will solve tasks and get new challenges at various pit stops. You must make your way on your own, and compete against classmates to reach the goal first.

    Join us on an unforgettable journey to Bali — an exotic and breathtakingly beautiful island in Indonesia, and the ultimate destination for anyone who wants to learn to surf. Here you’ll find perfect waves for both beginners and experienced surfers, a warm tropical climate, friendly locals, and amazing food.

    We’ll also visit Lombok, Bali’s neighboring island and one of Indonesia’s true gems. Lombok offers countless beaches and an even more relaxed atmosphere than Bali. The island is famous for its stunning coastline and volcanic landscape — often described as what Bali was 20 years ago.

    After a surf session, enjoy an ice cream by the pool or soak up the sun on the beach.

    Our second journey takes us to the Balkans — a region known for its stunning nature, rich history, and vibrant culture.

    Here, you’ll discover a unique mix of breathtaking beaches, rugged mountains, and charming coastal towns.
    In Croatia, we’ll explore beautiful islands and the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea. Montenegro offers dramatic cliffs and hidden bays, while in Albania, hospitality is more than just politeness — it’s a way of life. With “Besa”, the Albanian code of honor, you won’t just be a guest — you’ll be treated like family.

    The trip is packed with unforgettable adventures: rafting, mountain hiking, cycling through spectacular landscapes, kayaking, ziplining, and even paragliding — if you dare! Combined with cultural highlights and natural wonders like the Plitvice Lakes National Park waterfalls, this journey promises memories that will last a lifetime.

    This is how it works at our school:

    • At Verk Folk High School, international students are not placed in separate classes. Instead, they are fully integrated into regular classes alongside Norwegian students who speak both Norwegian and English.

    Our experience shows that this creates real friendships and helps students learn the language faster and more naturally.

    • That is why "Norwegian for Foreigners" is not a separate study line, but an additional course for those who want to learn Norwegian.
    • This means you can freely choose from our wide range of main courses, without limitations.

    What makes Hurdal Verk even more unique is that all students take two main courses, not just one. This allows you to combine different interests, enjoy greater variety in your school year, and meet even more people — giving you a richer social and learning experience.

    • When you apply, you select your Line 1 and Line 2, and simply add Norwegian for Foreigners if you want Norwegian language training.
