A unique three-week aid and adventure journey

Oman – A hidden gem for most Norwegians, Oman has been named one of the world’s most peaceful countries. With its warm climate, breathtaking nature, and rich culture, it offers unforgettable experiences. We’ll visit remote villages and meet the locals, camp under the stars in the desert, hike in the mountains, ride camels, surf down sand dunes, and swim in crystal-clear, turquoise cave pools. You’ll also see sea turtles, coral fish, and even sharks. On the way, we’ll stop in Dubai, where everything is “the biggest in the world” — and the contrast to Oman couldn’t be greater.

Kenya – Here, the contrast is even more striking. Many people live below the poverty line, and we’ll visit areas where the need for help is real. We’ll contribute both physically and socially through community work, visit schools and health projects, and learn about life in a society with huge inequalities. Of course, no trip to Africa is complete without a safari — an unforgettable adventure across the open savannah.

Zanzibar – After powerful experiences in Kenya, it’s time for reflection and renewal on the paradise island of Zanzibar. With its stunning beaches, turquoise waters, and lush nature, it almost looks too beautiful to be real.

At Verk Folk High School, international students are not placed in separate classes. Instead, they are fully integrated into regular classes alongside Norwegian students who speak both Norwegian and English.

Our experience shows that this creates real friendships and helps students learn the language faster and more naturally.

That is why "Norwegian for Foreigners" is not a separate study line, but an additional course for those who want to learn Norwegian.
This means you can freely choose from our wide range of main courses, without limitations.

What makes Hurdal Verk even more unique is that all students take two main courses, not just one. This allows you to combine different interests, enjoy greater variety in your school year, and meet even more people — giving you a richer social and learning experience.

When you apply, you select your Line 1 and Line 2, and simply add Norwegian for Foreigners if you want Norwegian language training.
