Voss is a true winter Eldorado with rugged mountains, challenging slopes, and two alpine resorts right nearby. Here, you get to feel the freedom and mastery on skis and board—in the park, on the slopes, and on untouched freeride lines with powder. Our focus is simple: mastery, fun, and friendship. As a student, you receive a season pass to two of the best resorts in Norway, so you can ride as much as you want. We travel to the Alps on a 14-day study trip!

Et av høydepunktane på vinteren er snøkiting på Hardangervidda.
Etter ein gjennomgang av utstyr og teknikk, er du klar for å prøve på eigen hand. I løpet av noen timer har du fått kontroll på kiten og er klar for å prøve deg med ski eller snowboard. Den andre dagen "flyr" du bortover vidda og har lært deg dei grunnleggende teknikkane.

Dette er verdens "kuleste" Roadtrip!
Turen går til både dei største og mest legendariske skistadane rundt i Alpene; St Anton, Innsbruck, Engelberg og Cortina, men også mindre perler som Bovec i Slovenia! Me reiser ofte saman med andre linjer ved skulen - det blir god stemning!
Du får oppleva mange land i Europa, med det lengste opphaldet i Tirol i Alpane. I løpet av turen blir det gode moglegheiter for ski, elvepadling, surfing og klatring. Det blir også litt tid til å oppleva kulturen i storbyar som til dømes Haag, Basel, Budapest og Praha, eller mindre stader i Kroatiaeller Italia. Me vel sjølv, og difor endrar turen seg frå år til år.
Turen har som mål å prøva ut sportane me har lært oss gjennom året i nye omgjevnader, men og å prøva nye ting og utfordra oss sjølv.
Me planlegg turen saman i løpet av skuleåret. Elevane på linja er med å legge opp reiseruta, slik at turen blir «vår». Samhald, turglede og felles opplevinger er i fokus.
Me har valt å reisa med buss for å:

Hafjell - et eldorado for sykling!

Hafjell Bike Park er ledende i Norge på heisbasert sykling, med 19 løyper fra grønn til svart vanskelighetsgrad fordelt på til sammen 25 km. Løypene passer alle ferdighetsnivåer, fra helt nybegynner til mer erfarne syklister. Vi skal sykle to dager. Heiskort og downhillsykkel er inkludert i denne turen.
Hyttetur til Myrkdalen

Alle elever på skulen får sesongkort i Voss Resort. På idrett og friluftsliv får du også årskort i Myrkdalen. Skianlegget ligg 35 minutter fra Voss og er eit av Noregs beste skisenter.
Me reiser ofte til Myrkdalen på dagstur, men nokon ganger leier me også ei hytte som ligg 50 meter frå bakken. Me står på ski, lager hopp og koser oss saman på hytta med god mat og kveldskos.
Myrkdalen er Noregs pudderparadis 😎⛷️
Stølstur til Upsete

The school has a lovely old mountain cabin beautifully situated along the Bergen Railway, just before Upsete Station.
During the second week of the school year, the entire school travels up to the mountain cabin. The trip is designed to suit everyone—some go on long hikes in the mountains, while others fish, swim, build campfires, or play guitar outside the cabin.
This trip is an incredible opportunity to strengthen the sense of community at the school. We start the school year with a shared experience in some of the most beautiful nature Norway has to offer. It’s also a great opportunity to get to know fellow students, teachers, and other school staff better.

School trip to Hardanger

At the end of the school year, we are going on a fantastic trip to Hardanger. We will spend the night in beautiful Rosendal, and during the trip there will be lots of cool activities for you to join in. We will go to Norway's only barony and get a tour of the old castle, we will try our hand at putball (football golf), go on mountain hikes, and swim in both fjords and mountain lakes. On the way home, we will visit the fantastic Bondhusvatnet, one of the most photographed natural areas in Western Norway. When a folk high school year comes to an end, it is extra nice to share such experiences with friends from the whole school. We travel a lot with the lines during the school year, and therefore it is especially nice to be the whole group of students together on this trip.
Voss Folk High School is an active and creative environment. There are great opportunities for personal growth and immersion in subjects of interest. The school emphasizes the traditions of local and Norwegian culture, the process of acquiring wisdom, and expression of opinion. The school has eight major courses: Music and Outdoor life, Sports and Outdoor Life, Film and Photography, Computing, Computing and Outdoor life, and three different Extremesport classes. Major course activities are an important part of everyday school life.
