Would you like to try new sports? This is a year of exciting activities both outdoors and indoors. Fantastic local sports facilities and unique wintersport areas in the "Soccer Village" of Sogndal.

Sogndal is really a paradise for sports enthusiasts, offering a large variety of challenging sports in a rural setting.
The school has its own gymnasium, weights and strength room, astroturf picth and a sandvolleyball pitch.

We are situated a short distance from the town centre and the campus area of the university college which offers a comprehensive choice of sporting facilities: full size indoor soccer pitch, one of Norways best indoor climbing walls and bouldering areas, a sports centre adjacent to a handball arena and a swimming pool.

As a student on this program you are a member of the sports centre providing you with unique opportunities for traing -both within and outside the school curriculum.

There are two skiing centres a short way from the school (a 15 minute drive) where the snow stays well into the spring, giving you the opportunity for plenty of skiing.

The sports program includes a spring field trip to Rio de Janeiro!

In the warmth you can experience a bustling community, a new culture in this olympic city!
We stay on the famous Copacabana beach for almost two weeks.

We spend these days playing beach volleyball, beach soccer, try paddleboard and surfing. We are specatators at volleyball og soccer matches, where we visit the famous Maracana stadium or the Estádop Olímpico João Havelange (Olympic stadium). We will spend a little time as tourists and visit the landmarks of  the statue of Christ and Sugarloaf mountain.

Surrounding Rio are the favelas that have sprung up due to the high prices of housing in the city. We visit the largest favela, Rochina, where we meet a local guide who has grown up there. We use motorcycle taxi to travel around the favela.

Our focus is on training, but also the possibility to make a difference: we visit a local junior school and "Karanba" -a social project in Karanba in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. Football is used as a vehicle for change -to help many children and youngsters from the slums with education and personal development.

This is an exciting project that we are lucky to be able to visit, so before we travel we make an effort to collect clothing and sports equipment that we can give to the young people who run this project.

Skiing, trail biking & surf

Every year we have a limited number of foreign students. Our teaching program is practically oriented, we do not have a bespoke language learning program for foreign students. However, there are students from abroad almost every year; primarily from the US, the UK, and other European countries.
This means that for the individual student, most of the language learning takes place interacting with the Norwegian students and the teachers. If you actively work on learning Norwegian from the beginning, the challenges of language barriers will not stop you from full participation in the school program.
