Ever dreamed about a year with outstanding vistas, or carrying a heavy pack in the mountains, kayaking, glacier trekking and making food on a camp fire? Then this is your choice!

Variety is a key word for this program. We use the best of each season: Fall can offer long mountain camping treks, summits, climbing on glaciers, kayak trips, climbing, surfing, fishing or just a sitting around cosy camp fire with good friends.
When winter arrives you will experience many varied ski hikes - single or multi day. You can also try dog sledding, sleeping in a snow cave and exploring an blue ice grotto!

When spring arrives a canoe trip, climbing outdoors, or a solo night under the stars may some of the perfect ways to leave the winter cold behind.

After our fall break, we head south on our field trip. First stop are the mighty Alps, where we spend some days hiking in the mountains, staying at mountain chalets and enjoying some summits!

After we descend from these summits, we test the wetter elements with a day of rafting before heading towards the Mediterranean.
We start packing again, this time with everything we need to paddle on a multi-day kayaking trip. We cruise past pristeen beaches and coastal villages in crystal clear waters.

In addition to all the activities, we meet a different mountain and kayaking environment than those we are familiar with from home. We also get to experience a different and exotic cuisine.

Towards the end of the school year, we depart for a two-day cruise on the Sognefjord. We have a whole vessel to ourselves, and we sail into Aurlandsjord and Nærøyfjord -where we camp overnight in the scenic fjord-hamlet of Dyrdal -a tiny, roadless community which offers plenty of opportunities -and space - for activities and mountain hikes for those who wish. We live onboard the vessel, in the local empty village school, -or, for those who prefer, camp in tents or under the sky. We barbecue our own food and enjoy a social evening aroung a camp fire. On day two, we disembark and hike along the enchanting postal trail to Styvi, where we have lunch, and for those who wish, a refreshing dip in the fjord!

Every year we have a limited number of foreign students. Our teaching program is practically oriented, we do not have a bespoke language learning program for foreign students. However, there are students from abroad almost every year; primarily from the US, the UK, and other European countries.
This means that for the individual student, most of the language learning takes place interacting with the Norwegian students and the teachers. If you actively work on learning Norwegian from the beginning, the challenges of language barriers will not stop you from full participation in the school program.
