We offer two different programs for international students:
Option 1:
Study Norwegian language and culture as your main course. In addition you attend elective courses in Norwegian with Norwegian peers.
Option 2:
Study a course in your field of interest (music, art, sports, creative subjects) in Norwegian with Norwegian peers. In addition you attend Norwegian language courses.
What will you learn?
We strive to give every student challenges on their level whether you have little or much background in Norwegian or are a complete beginner. You will improve your skills in Norwegian, both spoken and written. You will learn the most important features of Norwegian grammar. In everyday life you will have the opportunity to hear Norwegian and use Norwegian in all situations, from chatting with your roommate at bedtime to political discussions with fellow students.
How is the teaching conducted?
The teaching takes place in the classroom through language lessons, lectures, classroom discussions and project work, but also on excursions and in authentic everyday situations both on and off campus.
Oslo as our classroom
We are the only folk high school in the capital of Norway. We visit museums and institutions and enjoy everything the city has to offer, from cafés and stages to the Nordmarka forest and the Oslofjord.
