Rhythmic Performing Music & Songwriter

Do you want to spend a whole year playing or writing music? Learn what it takes to become a professional musician or become more confident on stage? Then Rhythmic performing at Stord FHS is for you!

Here you will have plenty of time for self-practice, so that you can develop the way YOU want. You get to participate in a band project where your genre knowledge is put to the test, as well as the opportunity to perform your music on large and small stages at Stord. Main instrument lessons are of course included with committed and skilled teachers, who are also active musicians (!!).

In addition to this, you get to attend one of the newest folk high schools in Norway, which is located in the center of Leirvik. As a music student, it's easy to be included in social gatherings, whether it's singing in the afternoon, mini-concerts or starting a songwriting club.

As a class we must:
Learn about what it takes to be a musician.
How to motivate oneself, how to practice effectively, as well as reflections on your inner entrepeneur: what can I offer as a musician / songwriter? Why am I good enough?

Watch live footage from your favorite artist and analyze it
To play well live, I need to know what works, and why it works so well.

Improve your listening skills / theory knowledge
Having a well-developed ear is very important to be able to work as a musician. Here we learn to recognize chord drums, melodies, we also look at effective ways to study music.

Learn about different popular music genres in bands (pop, funk, fusion, jazz, etc ..)
