Experience, explore and learn about outdoor life! Cozy campfires, sunrise over the mountains, sunsets in the sea, boattrips, hikes and skiing in our beautiful nature are experiences in this course.

We focus on the introduction to and learning about autdoor activities and spice this up with more spectacular experiences.

 

During the year you will get skills in the basic outdoor activities such as; campfires, campsite, map and compass and hikes in different kinds of scenery and seasons. Around the school we have lakes, forests, mountains and coast which provides lots of places to explore close by. In addition you have the chance of taking part in more challenging and spectacular activities once in a while.

We will set up the activities for what you and the class want. Some examples:

You will get a chanse to influence what activities plan, and the possibilities are numerous. We will balanse the combination of adrenalin and exciting experiences with finding peace in nature, feeling calm and being present.

Experiences of the great outdoors, cooperation and mastery are important to us in this course.

We have a number of shorter trips in the region, but we will also travel on two longer course trips in southern Norway. One in September, the other in February-April depending on the content, which we plan together with you and the class.

Hardangerfjorden rundt

This is a course trip where you get the opportunity to try climbing Via Ferrata, and canyoning in the Åkrafjord. We drive through fantastic fjord landscapes with dramatic mountains and beautiful view points.

We stop along the way at exciting destinations and go on mountain walks, swim in the fjord, light a fire and cook on camp fires.

During our trip we have the opportunity to walk the Queen's Path, a beautiful mountain hike, see Vøringsfossen, glaciers, waterfalls and we drive the National tourist road on Folgefonn peninsula.

We cross the Hardangerfjord both by ferry and over bridges. The trip lasts for four days but we get memories to last a lifetime.

Iceland - Adventure trip to Saga Island

A trip to Iceland is special. In Iceland you will find a varied, dramatic and unspoiled nature with glaciers, hot springs and mighty waterfalls, which makes the journey a unique experience with memories for life. The exotic nature offers many chances of relaxation and exciting activities. 

The Icelandic nature is varied and exotic, and in the scenery you will see traces of how the natural elements have shaped Iceland in the event of volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and erosion. Over eleven percent of the country is covered by magnificent glaciers. The largest is Vatnajökull (8400 square kilometers and 1000 meters thick). 

On the trip around the island in a minibus you get to experience both famous tourist destinations, but even more exciting is discovering lesser-known, but equally spectacular and exciting spots. There will be many fantastic photo spots, so bring your camera or mobile. There may be swimming in different hot baths every day, new nature experiences and good stories. We will cook some of the food outside and explore local traditions.

Surfing

We spend a couple of exciting days on the beach, with the surfboard and the wet element.

Mountains above fjords

Stord, Bømlo, Dronningstien, Kvinnheradsalpane. Together we will plan longer and shorter excursions to well-known, spectacular destinations, or more unknown but equally wonderful destinations you have not heard of.

Våre turar er unike opplevingar som ofte er vanskeleg å gjennomføra på eigahand, som fjordcruise med veteranskip i nydelege Hardangerfjorden. Du vil reisa på ulike turar nært og fjernt. Nokre turar er knytt opp til dei enkelte linjene, medan andre er felles for skulen.

Veteranship MS Sunnhordland - West Coast tour

The school year gets off to a flying start with the whole school travelling on a veteran ship, the MS Sunnhordland, into the beautiful Hardangerfjord and around the archipelago of Sunnhordland. Me experience many great stops and enjoy beautiful scenery and unique straits onboard a historic ship!

Winter adventure

When winter comes, we travel to Hovden for days of skiing and alpine skiing. You can enjoy cross-country skiing in flat terrain, slalom, tobogganing, summit tours, steep hills or very steep hills. Something for all levels!

Here you can enjoy urban life in Stord, the city in the middle of nature, situated in the heart of the archipelago Sunnhordland, at the heart of the renowed Hardangerfjorden.
