Learn how to take wow photos that stand out from the crowd! With the camera in hand, we go on hikes in the wild and beautiful western landscape. The Interrail trip is planed together in the class.

Do you enjoy catching special moments with your camera? Together we will experience the best Norwegian nature has to offer and we will explore creativity through practical photo assignments - both in the studio and outdoors.

We focus on easy outdoor life where the aim of each trip is to capture unique images. You will learn to master your camera and what you should think about in order to get the most out of each situation.

This year's travel highlight will be a 2-3 week Interrail trip through Europe. We plan the trip as a team. Berlin, Prague, Budapest, the Alps, Milan, Barcelona, ​​Paris. The choice is yours. Regardless of where we go, we will be left with lots of great experiences and, not least, many nice photos. The camera comes along whereever we go!

At the end of the year, we organize a magnificent photo exhibition with all the best photos you have taken.

In addition, you can take part in kayak trips, sleeping in tents and under the open sky in hammocks, a boat trip with the veteran ship MS Sunnhordland, a ski and snowboard trip to Hovden and lots of other fun experiences!

Stord folkehøgskule is one of the country's newest Folk high schools. The school is centrally located in the center of Leirvik in Stord and is within walking distance of shops, shopping centre, cinema, swimming pool and lots of beautiful nature. The newly renovated school building was formerly a hotel, which means that all rooms have their own bathroom and shower.

Interrail Europe - The continent at its best!

When spring comes, the students in the course travel by train on an Interrail trip through Europe. As a student, you will help plan an exciting trip filled with experiences and activities that you and the class decide on.

Mountains above fjords

Stord, Bømlo, Dronningstien, Kvinnheradsalpane. Together we will plan longer and shorter excursions to well-known, spectacular destinations, or more unknown but equally wonderful destinations you have not heard of.

Våre turar er unike opplevingar som ofte er vanskeleg å gjennomføra på eigahand, som fjordcruise med veteranskip i nydelege Hardangerfjorden. Du vil reisa på ulike turar nært og fjernt. Nokre turar er knytt opp til dei enkelte linjene, medan andre er felles for skulen.

Veteranship MS Sunnhordland - West Coast tour

The school year gets off to a flying start with the whole school travelling on a veteran ship, the MS Sunnhordland, into the beautiful Hardangerfjord and around the archipelago of Sunnhordland. Me experience many great stops and enjoy beautiful scenery and unique straits onboard a historic ship!

Winter adventure

When winter comes, we travel to Hovden for days of skiing and alpine skiing. You can enjoy cross-country skiing in flat terrain, slalom, tobogganing, summit tours, steep hills or very steep hills. Something for all levels!

Stord Folkehøgskule is a free-spirited folk high school. Here you can enjoy urban life in Stord, the city in the middle of nature, situated in the heart of the archipelago Sunnhordland, at the heart of the renowed Hardangerfjorden. The school has nine exciting and varied courses, including one course dedicated to learning the language and culture. We also have many fun and interesting electives, newly renovated buildings and a highly motivated staff ready to receive you. We have room for more than 100 students and we have students from all of Norway and around the world.
