This course is a new initiative in collaboration with Nordland Teater, and it opens many doors for those who take the course. A completely unique offer where you get:
Close collaboration with Nordland Teater - you get to learn directly from professional actors, directors, instructors, dramaturgs, set designers, lighting and sound designers
Workshops and courses - theater management, direction and text for communication, improvisation and physical theater
Practice and supervision - gain experience and build networks in real productions
Opportunity for assignments - get hired during the Winter Light Festival, Norway's largest performing arts festival in terms of number of events
Film and stage – we combine theatre and film, so you get experience in both expressions
We will visit Nordland Teater regularly during the year, and you will get to know the people who work there well.
Mosjøen also has a solid film community, including talented filmmakers such as Simen Nyland (Tapperiet Film og Vfx AS) and Aleksander Nordaas. We take advantage of this on the course. With such a collaboration, you get to be part of a larger environment and experience the life of an actor from the inside.

Bli med på en spennende tur du aldri vil glemme! Japan har en rik teatertradisjon (Noh, Kabuki, Bunraku) og en moderne filmindustri, og en fantastisk spennende kultur som rommer både nytt og gammelt. Vi starter i hovedstaden Tokyo, der vi virkelig får kjenne på storbyen og de futuristiske elementene denne byen har i seg. Tokyo er kjent for avansert teknologi og er et globalt senter for innovasjon. Det er dukker alltid opp noe nytt og spennende vi fra Norge aldri har sett før. I tillegg til å la den Japanske kulturen synke inn, så tar vi oss tid til å bli inspirert av både teater og film.
Vi reiser videre med høyhastighetstofet Shinkansen, som er bevis på Japansk høyteknologi og en opplevelse i seg selv. I den gamle hovedstaden Kyoto, er kombinasjonen av hypermoderne og historisk kultur er unik, med muligheter for å oppleve Kabuki-teater, anime-studioer, filmfestivaler, og tradisjonell japansk kultur.
På planen blir en god blanding av opplevelser: teaterforestillinger, filmstudioer, cosplay-kultur, workshops i tradisjonell teaterkunst, og utforsk templer og historiske steder. Hva med å se en non-verbal forestilling ved Gear Theatre Kyoto, etter et måltid med Japansk Sushi eller Ramen? Besøke et tempel og avslutte dagen med en ekte Te-seremoni? Vel det finnes templer overalt i Kyoto. Faktisk har denne eldgamle byen nesten 1600 templer, så utfordringen er å bestemme seg for hvilke man skal besøke.

I februar er det magiske øyeblikk ved Nordland Teater i nabobyen Mo i Rana; Vinterlysfestivalen! Her skal vi frotse i kultur og teateropplevelser, delta på innsiden av festivalen og spille vår egen forestilling!
Festivalen pågår i en uke, og er en stor kulturfestival i nordisk målestokk. Festivalen har et mangfoldig program med forestillinger, musikk og kultur for alle aldersgrupper, og hit kommer det folk fra både inn- og utland. Vi knytter kontakter, deltar på faglige seminarer og har det sosialt sammen. Men, mest av alt - ser masse bra teater!

Towards the end of the school year, we take you on an adventure trip to The coast of Helgeland, also called the world's most beautiful archipelago. You can't have been in Helgeland for so long without getting this! We aim for several attractions on the trip, hopefully to end up at Træna. Træna is an island municipality 33 nautical miles off the coast of Helgeland. There has been settlement here ever since the Stone Age, 9,000 years ago. This wonderful island municipality that is flourishing like never before. You may have heard of Trænafestivalen.
On 15.2 km² you will meet the people of the sea. They count 453 people, and have an entrepreneurial mentality that you have never seen. You will have the opportunity to have a milkshake at Aloha café, drink Helgeland's best cappuccino at Træna Kaffekollektiv and eat a delicious dinner at Havfolkets hus. You will have the opportunity to sing together in Kirkehelleren, walk up to the NATO station at Gompen or walk the love path around the mountains at Sanna. If you want to go fishing or sit in the sauna at the boathouse, this is also an option. Or perhaps you would like to visit the Petter Dass chapel, which was decorated by the artist Karl Erik Harr It's just a lot to look forward to!
E-sport / Gaming
For those who enjoy playing and competing in games. We explore popular titles like Tekken, FIFA and Mario Kart, and create a social environment. If you have your own equipment, you can also spend time playing PC games.
Vefsn Folkehøgskole TOPPEN is an active and creative school, placed on the top of a hill on the outskirts of Mosjøen in the middle of Norway. But still far enough up north that the northern lights dance across the sky regularly during the winther.
