Esports in South Korea is like cross-country skiing in Norway. With national broadcasts on public television for almost 20 years. They have a players academy with state support and were the first to consider esports an official job back in year 2000. Since 1960, they have organized major TV/PC gaming tournaments.

In the late 90s, the country decided to upgrade internet access for the population. This led to a boom in internetcafes where young people could play for an hour for free, hang out with friends and compete. Today there are over 25,000 so-called PC Bangs! The availability and absence of stigma led to what we know today as the mecca of esports.

Towards the end of the school year, we take you on an adventure trip to The coast of Helgeland, also called the world's most beautiful archipelago. You can't have been in Helgeland for so long without getting this! We aim for several attractions on the trip, hopefully to end up at Træna. Træna is an island municipality 33 nautical miles off the coast of Helgeland. There has been settlement here ever since the Stone Age, 9,000 years ago. This wonderful island municipality that is flourishing like never before. You may have heard of Trænafestivalen.

On 15.2 km² you will meet the people of the sea. They count 453 people, and have an entrepreneurial mentality that you have never seen. You will have the opportunity to have a milkshake at Aloha café, drink Helgeland's best cappuccino at Træna Kaffekollektiv and eat a delicious dinner at Havfolkets hus. You will have the opportunity to sing together in Kirkehelleren, walk up to the NATO station at Gompen or walk the love path around the mountains at Sanna. If you want to go fishing or sit in the sauna at the boathouse, this is also an option. Or perhaps you would like to visit the Petter Dass chapel, which was decorated by the artist Karl Erik Harr It's just a lot to look forward to!

E-sport / Gaming

For those who enjoy playing and competing in games. We explore popular titles like Tekken, FIFA and Mario Kart, and create a social environment. If you have your own equipment, you can also spend time playing PC games.

Age limits

To be offered a place at the school, the student must turn 18 during the first semester. There is no upper age limit.

Admission requirements

Must turn 18 during the first semester
The enrollment fee must be paid before the student is registered as an admitted student

Second-year students (students applying for a new long course)

Must have an admission interview to establish a plan for both academic and social development
Must have paid in full for the first school year before being admitted for a new school year

Priority criteria

In principle, the school admits students on a rolling basis, following a first-come, first-served policy. In cases where two applicants are equally qualified (having applied at the same time) and only one spot remains, the composition of the group may influence who receives an offer. For example, if the choice is between a guitarist and a drummer for the Performing Musician program, and there is currently no drummer; or if a class has 10 girls and 1 boy, and adding another boy would benefit the class dynamic.

International applicants

Applicants from countries outside the EU/EFTA are subject to regulations regarding a guaranteed deposit amount. Information regarding the admission process is sent once a complete application has been received via the application portal. If an application is incomplete, we will request further information before proceeding with the admission process.

The school receives funding for a maximum of 10% of its approved student intake from countries outside the EU/EFTA and may reject applications on this basis. If an applicant is from a country outside the EU/EFTA and there is a high probability that their visa application will not be processed before the start of the school year, we recommend applying the following year.

International applicants from within the EU/EFTA are admitted on the same terms as Norwegian applicants.

Admission process

An offer of a school place will be sent to you via email and will include a 7-day deadline for responding and making payment. Applicants applying shortly before or after the start of the school year will normally be given a shorter deadline. You are registered as an enrolled student once the enrollment fee has been paid. Statutory cooling-off rights apply, meaning you can receive a refund if you change your mind within 14 days.

As part of the admission process, a teacher from your chosen study track will contact you so you can get to know each other and have any questions answered. In the period leading up to the start of the school year, you will receive emails containing information and forms to complete. Among other things, these forms allow you to choose where in the boarding facilities you would like to live.

Applicants from outside the EU/EFTA will be sent the full admission procedure after we have received the application.
