GET INSPIRED

At Kreativ MIX we want to provide impulses for change, creative energy, inspiration, good ideas and initiative. This course is perfect for those of you who are curious and who thrive best when you get to do different activities.

We work mostly practically and project-based. Some topics last three days, others last several weeks. We work both in groups and individually, and adapt to the wishes of the class. There are two weeks of in-depth study each semester.

The study trip to Japan is a highlight of the course. The exciting culture, Japanese art, the new smells and all the impressions are magical. The fact that you also get to experience everything together with good friends makes the trip unforgettable.

Kyoto er Japans tidligere hovedstad og et kultursentrum. Her bugner det av muligheter og du får være med å velge hvilke kunstformer vi skal fordype oss i. 

Japan har en rik tradisjon innen kunst og håndverk. Her er noe av det vi kan lære mer om i Kyoto: 

Keramikk: Besøke keramikkverksted. Delta på workshop og forme egen keramikk. Se og lære av Japanske teknikker og stiler. 

Kalligrafi: Delta på kurs hvor du lærer å lage Japansk kalligrafi samtidig som du lærer om Japansk språk, tenkemåte og Zen filosofien. 

Tradisjonell Japansk filmproduksjon: Besøke Toei Kyoto Studio Park hvor du kan oppleve sett fra samuraifilmer, lære om spesialeffekter og kle deg ut i tradisjonelle kostymer 

Tresnitt og Ukyo-e: Ukyo-e er en tradisjonell japansk kunstform kjent for sine fargerike tresnitt. Vi besøker verksted hvor vi får se både prosess og kunstverk. Kanskje blir det også muligheter for å prøve teknikken. 

Arkitektur og hagekunst: Vi besøker japanske templer og tehus, og vi besøke hager kjent for sin skjønnhet og sin evne til å skape en følelse av ro.  

Tekstilhåndverk og Kimono: Vi besøker museum og verksted. Her lærer vi om Japansk tekstil-tradisjon og ser hvordan tekstiler blir vevd. Vi kan prøve å veve eget tekstil. Vi får oppleve Kimono fashion shows. Vi kan prøve å kle oss i tradisjonell Kimono.

Towards the end of the school year, we take you on an adventure trip to The coast of Helgeland, also called the world's most beautiful archipelago. You can't have been in Helgeland for so long without getting this! We aim for several attractions on the trip, hopefully to end up at Træna. Træna is an island municipality 33 nautical miles off the coast of Helgeland. There has been settlement here ever since the Stone Age, 9,000 years ago. This wonderful island municipality that is flourishing like never before. You may have heard of Trænafestivalen.

On 15.2 km² you will meet the people of the sea. They count 453 people, and have an entrepreneurial mentality that you have never seen. You will have the opportunity to have a milkshake at Aloha café, drink Helgeland's best cappuccino at Træna Kaffekollektiv and eat a delicious dinner at Havfolkets hus. You will have the opportunity to sing together in Kirkehelleren, walk up to the NATO station at Gompen or walk the love path around the mountains at Sanna. If you want to go fishing or sit in the sauna at the boathouse, this is also an option. Or perhaps you would like to visit the Petter Dass chapel, which was decorated by the artist Karl Erik Harr It's just a lot to look forward to!

E-sport / Gaming

For those who enjoy playing and competing in games. We explore popular titles like Tekken, FIFA and Mario Kart, and create a social environment. If you have your own equipment, you can also spend time playing PC games.

Vefsn Folkehøgskole TOPPEN is an active and creative school, placed on the top of a hill on the outskirts of Mosjøen in the middle of Norway. But still far enough up north that the northern lights dance across the sky regularly during the winther.
