A year filled with species knowledge, love of nature, wonder and adventure.

Are you enthusiastic about nature and wildlife? Do you enjoy being outdoors and sharing nature experiences with others? In the class “Biology and nature joy”, you will get to explore the fascinating life in forests, freshwater, mountains, and the ocean. The program combines species knowledge, nature management, biological adventures, and genuine enjoyment of nature—without the pressure of exams. You don’t need any prior experience with biology or outdoor life, just an interest in nature.

Throughout the year, you will learn about species within various groups of fungi, plants, and animals; which groups we focus on will depend both on you and your class. We will explore the many fascinating and ingenious strategies different species use to survive and reproduce. We will also examine the remarkable ways that species interact in nature.

You will also learn how different species have been connected to humans, for example as food, medicine, crafts, for protection and in traditions and myths. You will become skilled at foraging for food in nature and picking up fun and quirky facts along the way :)

You will learn/experience:
