At Agder folkehøgskole you have the opportunity to gain fluency in the Norwegian language, make lifelong friends and explore the Norwegian culture.

The Norwegian course is suitable for beginners and for students with little previous knowledge of the language. The first semester we focus on basic grammar and use of everyday language in both oral and written production. In the second semester the students build upon their vocabulary and grammatical skills to further expand their knowledge of the language. We use a wide range of teaching methods to ensure that the students will be competent language users by the end of the schoolyear. The course includes several excursions to historical, cultural and natural sites each semester.

The school is situated in Søgne, a community in beautiful surroundings 16 km west of Kristiansand, the southern-most city in Norway.

Agder Folkehogskole offers a course in Norwegian language and culture for foreigners:

Introduction course in Norwegian language and literature. The course also contains subjects as Norwegian everyday life and manners, Norwegian culture and economic life. This course will give you enough knowledge to do the "Bergen-test", which proves sufficient command of a lauguage for employments in Norway. Learning takes place in a creative environment. Callenging excursions, electives and common activities There is no tuition fee. The money you pay include board, lodging in double room, teaching material and study trips. The Norwegian language and culture course costs NOK 99000 (2016/2017). Additional payment for single room NOK 4500. There is also a admission fee NOK 2100.
