The Leadership Development program is a second-year course for students who want to grow as leaders and take an active role in building the school community. As a participant, you become part of the team that contributes to a safe, inclusive and inspiring environment for all students at Hallingdal Folk High School.
Throughout the year, you’ll gain practical experience in leadership, communication and teamwork. You’ll learn how to plan and lead activities, handle conflicts, support others and reflect on your own role as a leader. Weekly guidance sessions and close follow-up help you build confidence and self-awareness.
You’ll also explore topics such as psychology, values, cooperation, and the balance between leading and supporting others. Each student is connected to one of the school’s main courses and works alongside both staff and students in everyday life.
No previous leadership experience is required, just motivation, engagement and a desire to make a positive difference. After the year, you’ll receive a diploma and a personal statement describing your leadership practice.
