Scandinavias only music course focusing on Metal!
In more than 20 years we have developed a large amount of headbanging metal-musicians at Buskerud folkehøgskole. Metalheads from all over Norway have started up at our school to refine the dark tones of rock and metal.
The Rock & Metal course at Buskerud folkehøgskole is one of a kind. It have been said to be «The most exciting course I have ever experienced» by the main man Ihsahn in the legendary black-metal band Emperor.
Our focuses:
- Band experience; interaction, concerts and studio
- Composing; self-composed songs
- Theory; with following practical rehearsals
The teaching is musically inspired by rock, metal, jazzrock and more(Gojira, Opeth, Behemoth, Meshuggah, Mastodon, Emperor, Black Sabbath Pantera, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Swans, Zeal & Ardor, King Crimson, Tool etc).
Take a deep dive into interaction, composition, improvisation, music- and sound theory. You will learn the process from ideas to published material, and throughout the year we do concerts with the best equipment on real stages.
