Do you love digital art, games, and game art? Here you will learn to develop pixel art, animations, concept art, character designs and game art! We also make games in teams with the other Game lines.
This is the line for those of you who like to draw and who have a passion for games and game art. At first the focus is on pixel art and animations, and we will work both technically with learning programs, and with different art styles and art principles to improve your own art. You will be challenged to draw and animate a lot throughout the year, both alone and in collaboration with others, and at the end of the school year you will leave with your own portfolio.
This is what we will work with:
- Pixel art and pixel animation
- Digital drawing and painting
- Concept Art
- Character Design
- High definition 2D animation
- 3D modeling
- Workshops with guest teachers
- Study trips to London and various game events
- Optional study trip to Japan
In addition, we will work with basic skills such as anatomy and perspective, and we will improve our art by learning art principles and testing different art styles. We will also have guests over from both the art and games industries who will have workshops with us.
Game Projects:
We will work together with the Game Design and Game Music lines to create games throughout the year, in both small and large groups. We collaborate closely and frequently with the other lines, and together we create unique and engaging games, both in the form of shorter game jams and bigger game projects that last between 1-4 weeks. As a Game Art student, you will be responsible for making drawings, animations and other visual assets for the games that are created.
