    Give yourself an exiting year where you get to work with both art, music and theater. Create projects which combines different art disciplines. Experiment and develop your own expression.

    Eksperimental and personal

    If you're interested in both visual art, music and performance theatre, this is the line for you. We'll give you an introduction to all of these subjects, and you get individual feedback to how these art forms can be combined into your personal expression. We would like you to experiment and explore new approaches to how you can create art.

    Sunnhordland Folk High School has a lot of experience with the arts. We have all the facilitities you need to create art with both visual, musical/auditive and performative aspects - such as art installations, sound installations and performance theatre. These are genres that often are combined and experimented with each other. 

    At MultiArt, we will not be focusing on scripts or musical notation, you will develop your productions based on your ideas and concepts. It's important to us to include your personal ideas and thoughts in the process. 

    You will attend lessons with both the art line, music line and theatre line, where you will participate in their projects in your own way, selecting which forms of art you wish to use. The MultiArt line will also work on their own production, facilitated by the teachers. You don't need any prior knowledge to apply to MultiArt, it's enough to want to express yourself through the arts.

    A study tour to London gives us experiences that widen our horizon and give us impulses for each of our subjects. Each line has their own program. For the Acting line, Art+ and Music: Indie & Rock, London is really the best possible city we can go to. London is the world capitol of art, music and theatre.

    For å oppleve kunst, teater og musikk har vi en kortere linjetur til et sted i inn- eller utland der vi har et spennende program som gir oss inspirasjon og faglig påfyll. Ofte har denne turen gått til Berlin, men andre byer kan også være aktuelle. Reisemål blir avtalt i samarbeid med deg som elev, og hver linje har sitt skreddersydde program.

    Japan

    I vårsemesteret får du tilbud om å være med på en opplevelsestur til Japan.

    Her vil vi besøke Tokyo og Kyoto, med muligheter for dagsturer til andre spennende lokasjoner nær Tokyo . Målet med denne turen er å oppleve kultur og natur i et samfunn som er ganske så forskjellig fra vårt, men som samtidig er sentralt for vestlig kultur.

    Vi besøker blant annet gaming-,  manga- og cosplaydistriktene i Tokyo sammen med Studio Ghibli-museet. Vi besøker bydeler med spennende kafeer og butikker, det tradisjonelle fiskemarkedet, og selvfølgelig parker med Sakuratrær. På programmet er det også mange aktiviteter man kan velge mellom, alt etter hva man er mest interessert i – f.eks. kunst, musikk eller sightseeing.

    Vi tar også en overnatting i vakre Kyoto. Her får du oppleve de tradisjonelle områdene med elegante parker og templer, samt mulighet til å besøke Nintendo Museum.

    Det er en stor opplevelse å være med på turen til Japan. På grunn av kostnadene og fordi vi har ulike interesser, er turen ikke obligatorisk. Det vil være et alternativt opplegg på skolen for deg som velger å bli igjen her. Du melder deg på turen etter at du har kommet til skolen.

    Mange flotte fjelltopper og fjellområder gir en stor meny når en skal ut på tur. Vi er veldig glad i området rundt Folgefonna og her besøker vi Bondhusdalen. Vil du gå høyt eller lavt, vi gjør begge deler!

    For elever som liker å ha ski på beina så tilbyr vi en dag i Røldal skisenter. Røldal er kjent for mye snø og en lang skisesong og har 7 skiheiser. Skolen betaler utstyret så du slipper å ta med ditt eget.
    Samme dag er det også tur for de som best liker å gå. Mange flotte fjelltopper og utsiktsturer ligger rundt oss og vi velger en av disse på samme dag.

    The curriculum centres on the creative performing arts contexted with the personal growth and development of the student. Sunnhordland folk high school is beautifully situated by the sea at the West Coast of Norway and has good facilities for the various art subjects.

    We accommodate English speakers in our teaching. All foreigners will also get the offer of a short and intensive course in Norwegian language for about 2-4 lessons a week.
