This is one of our new active programs where you can live out your passion for gaming, but where you are also interested and motivated for other activities. We combine the passion for gaming with exciting outdoor activities, physical activity, sports, and even an unforgettable study trip to Australia.

Become a part of a diverse, versatile, and social environment. Here, you'll have the opportunity to make lifelong friends. You and your class are brought together based on common interests, and together we will experience a lot, putting ourselves to the test both in the digital world and in the real one.

Gaming and E-sports

The meta has changed. Gaming and E-sports have taken the world by storm, and there has been significant growth in the industry in recent years. We cover everything from the history and culture of gaming to competitions. Here, you will have plenty of time for gaming - honing your skills both individually and as a team player.

We focus on the biggest international games like Counter-Strike, Overwatch 2, League of Legends, Apex Legends, Valorant, and Fortnite. We also explore many more! There's room for every gaming enthusiast.

Outdoor Activities, Training, and Activity in Beautiful Nature

We use the scenic nature of Trøndelag as our learning arena to develop skills, teamwork, and communication abilities. Here, you'll have the chance to try various activities such as climbing and rappelling, skiing/snowboarding, and a wide range of outdoor activities.

14-day study trip to Australia

During the spring semester, we travel to Australia to experience the end of the Australian summer. The trip combines adventure, outdoor activities, culture and new experiences.

You can look forward to surfing along one of the world’s most beautiful coastlines, canyoning through ancient river formations and rappelling down waterfalls of up to 30 metres in the Blue Mountains.

We’ll also spend time in Sydney, explore the coastline and go freediving in clear waters with plenty to discover below the surface.

Along the way, we’ll experience Australia’s unique wildlife, including kangaroos, and learn more about the country’s diverse landscapes and rich cultural heritage.

This is a trip filled with adventure, learning and shared experiences – with plenty of opportunities to challenge yourself, step outside your comfort zone and create memories that will last long after you return home.

Surfcamp in Hoddevik

In the fall, the students from Sport Extreme Australia, Challenge Explore, Gaming Aktiv, and VanLife travel to stunning Hoddevik – one of Norway’s most iconic surf spots. Tucked between steep mountains and the open sea, we spend three unforgettable days learning to surf in a truly breathtaking setting.

Whether you’ve never touched a surfboard before or already have some experience, you’ll receive great instruction and plenty of time in the water. Professional surf coaches guide you through the basics – balance, paddling, wave reading – and help you catch your first (or best!) wave.

This trip is about more than just surfing – it’s about shared experiences, personal challenges, and connecting with nature in a powerful way. You’ll meet students from other lines and create memories that stay with you long after the sand is gone from your shoes.

The group trip to Spain is one of the highlights at the beginning of the school year – and the perfect way to get to know your fellow students and teachers. For the 2025–2026 school year, we’re heading to sunny Andalusia, with our base near the coastal town of Rota.

During the trip, you’ll have the chance to try surfing, play frisbee golf, join bike rides, and relax with the group on the beach. We’ll also visit exciting places like the historic city of Seville and the unique area of Gibraltar – known for its monkeys, British culture, and stunning views.

This trip is just as much about building community as it is about exploring new places. You’ll connect with people from different lines and have time to settle into what could become one of the best years of your life. All meals and activities are included in the tuition – you just need some pocket money for the extras.

Age limits

The course is open to students aged 16 and above, normally up to 26.

Admission requirements

The course has no specific admission requirements. Offers of admission are made following an assessment based on the school’s overall educational approach. We aim to work together with our students to foster a positive school environment, so your motivation to contribute both academically and socially is important. We therefore place great emphasis on what you write about yourself and your reasons for wanting to attend Bakketun.

Furthermore, we look for the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, alongside an interest in your own personal growth and that of others.

Priority criteria

When there are many applicants, the school places emphasis on factors such as motivation, interest in the school’s study programmes and subjects, and the composition of the applicant group.

Admission process

You apply using the school's application form. Applications are processed on a rolling basis, and you will receive a response via email once your application has been processed.
