Dreaming of releasing your own music? Spend a year writing songs, finding your sound and developing your identity as an artist – from first idea to finished release.

What you’ll learn

What we do

Rødde is located just outside Trondheim, giving us easy access to concerts, festivals, studios and a vibrant music scene. Throughout the year, we take part in events such as Trondheim Calling and Festningen, attend concerts and meet people from the music industry.

A year at Beats Artist

Spend a full year writing, recording and developing your own music alongside others who want to do the same. You’ll have access to studios, teachers and producers from Beats Production who can help take your ideas from first draft to finished release.

Collaborate with Beats Production

At Rødde, artists and producers work side by side. You’ll meet in songwriting sessions, studios and joint projects, write music together, perform live, release songs and build a valuable network.

Professional studios and equipment

Rødde has six newly renovated music studios and a dedicated recording room. You can use the studios outside class hours too, giving you the freedom to create whenever inspiration strikes.

London has a large and diverse music scene, and during the study trip you’ll get a closer look at what goes on behind the scenes in an international music city. We’ll fill the week with relevant activities related to songwriting, artist development and the music industry, such as workshops, meetings with industry professionals and visits to different music environments and venues.

There will also be concerts and other music experiences along the way, depending on what’s happening in the city while we’re there. The aim of the trip is to give you new ideas, motivation and a better understanding of how you can continue developing your own music and artist project.

Of course, this is also a city trip, so there will be plenty of time to explore London outside the academic programme. You’ll have time for shopping, markets, sightseeing, exploring different neighbourhoods and enjoying the city together with the rest of the class.

The trip combines music, city life and community, giving you both professional inspiration and plenty of great experiences to take home with you.

The perfect way to end the school year!

We don’t want anyone to be left behind while the rest of the school travels. That’s why the school trip to Portugal in April is included – no extra cost for you. We have many years of experience traveling together as a whole school when the year is coming to an end. New memories and great fellowship are waiting for you!

We’ll fly together to Lisbon and then take a bus to Costa de Caparica, where we’ll stay. During the trip we’ll go on excursions to places like Nazaré and Lisbon, and fill our days with surfing, good food, and activities before heading back to Rødde.

You must have a passport valid until October 2027.
