Produce and create music

At Beats Production you’ll learn:

You’ll spend plenty of time producing in your preferred DAW—FL Studio, Ableton, Logic, Cubase, or others. Guidance comes from established artists/producers, with access to professional hardware and software. You can also bring your own gear.

Work in a professional studio, learning to sample, write, record, make beats, and promote yourself as an artist/producer. The goal: have fun while releasing your music. Find more info on Rødde Folk High School’s website, and check TikTok for production tips.

Study trip to New York & concerts in Trondheim
This program has long experience with New York trips. We attend major concerts, visit Sterling Sound – one of the world’s most renowned studios—and explore the city.

Guest artists & producers
Each year, artists and producers share knowledge and experience—great chances to pick up tips! Guests have included Fillip Kolsete, Benjamin Sahba, Chris Gehringer, and many more.

Spring Course 2027
Spring course students join full-year students with six months of music production experience. Basic production skills are therefore required. Assessment is done through a phone call with line teacher Lasse, and we encourage you to apply even if you’re unsure.

Near Trondheim – close to the city, close to nature.

Rødde Folk High School is located just outside Trondheim – the “big little city” offering food, history, art, culture, nature, shopping, and much more. At the same time, you’ll have mountains and forests right nearby, with opportunities for hiking, climbing, and skiing in Vassfjellet. It truly gives you the best of both worlds: the energy of the city and the calm of nature.

A school day at Rødde can mean fresh snow under your feet, hours in the studio creating new tracks, cultural exchange on exciting trips abroad, and countless opportunities to try something new. At Rødde, you don’t just pursue your interests – you share experiences and learn together with people who may become your closest friends.

Here, you’ll have the freedom to learn and grow without the pressure of exams and grades. You’ll build knowledge and skills while also experiencing personal growth and development. This is a place to create, explore, and step outside your comfort zone in a safe environment. No wonder our students often say: “This is the best year of my life!”
