Ål Folkehøgskole travels to Vietnam in the 2026–2027 school year. During this trip, students will experience both vibrant city life and everyday local culture.

The trip offers a unique opportunity to explore Vietnamese culture, history, and society, while also learning about the living conditions of Deaf people in Vietnam. Students will meet local Deaf communities, visit relevant environments, and gain insight into Vietnamese sign language, education, rights, and the challenges and opportunities Deaf people face today.

This is a meaningful and distinctive study trip that provides new perspectives, strong encounters, and lasting memories — expanding students’ understanding of Deaf culture in a global context.

Ål Folk High School offers full-year courses for deaf and hearing signers from all over the world! Our students comes from a wide range of countries from all five continents! We have had students from Madagascar, Iran, India, Chile, Venezuela, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Australia, the USA and many other countries. The only Folk High School for deaf people in Norway, the Ål folkehøyskole and Conference Center for Deaf People is a national resource center in the field of Sign Language and Deaf Studies.
